Adrian Lobb
Adrian Lobb
Adrian has written for The Big Issue since 2012, as a freelance and now as TV Editor, having made his debut with an exclusive Benedict Cumberbatch cover story. It has not, he insists, been all downhill ever since. He specialises in writing about television and the cultural / social importance of the arts, as well as music, film, homelessness, politics and much more. He has interviewed all the actors, many of the directors, some of the musicians and quite a few of the politicians. He was lucky enough to spend a week with Mark Hamill back in 2016 as the Star Wars legend interviewed Ray and Dave Davies from The Kinks for The Big Issue, joined Two-Tone heroes The Specials as they revisited the site of the video shoot for Ghost Town, dropped an entire cup of tea all over Ralph Fiennes during an interview, quizzed Billie Jean King about tennis and politics, talked Brexit with Danny Dyer and has spoken to every Doctor Who lead actor since the show's return in 2005. He has been a journalist since 2000 and among many others has written for the Guardian, Four Four Two, TV Times, the Quietus, the Mirror and TV Choice. He is also a keen runner, having completed three marathons (so far), and is a trustee of The Running Charity, which works through mentoring and fitness training with young people experiencing homelessness.
